Indian Trade and Marketing expert Jagat Shah gave a presentation, to introduce the new trends and concepts of 'International Marketing' with special reference to plastic products.
Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda) in collaboration with United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (Unido) and the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Pakistan Plastic Manufacturers Association (PPMA) organised this event at the LCCI premises. This workshop cum presentation was a result of Cluster Development Programme initiative of Smeda and Unido. The special focus was towards plastics and PVC cluster Lahore. Some 40 people attended the presentation. Representatives from PPMA, PAPAAM, PITAC, APMMA and Plastic Industry stakeholders were among the participants.
Alamgir Chaudhry, provisional chief Smeda welcomed the participants and informed them about Cluster Diagnostic Study for plastics and PVC to be conducted by the Authority.
Muhammad Ali Mian, former Senior Vice President LCCI addressed the workshop on behalf of the President LCCI. Anjum Fayyaz of Unido highlighted Unido's methodology for Cluster Development. Jagat Shah continued with his presentation after inaugural session and introduced the new trends and concepts for International Marketing with special reference to plastic products.
Followed by a question and answer session at the end of presentation and a contact point (RBC Lahore) was established for future correspondence and activities with the Plastic Industry.
The participants applauded the speaker for sharing his experience and knowledge in a befitting manner. They also appreciated the role of Smeda in organising these kinds of activities with stakeholders.
