'Government wants to grab minerals from Kohlu'

At least 100 people have been died till Thursday and another three died on Saturday as the military operation continued in Kohlu, cottages are being set on fire, there is no water and electricity available in the area, said elected representatives of Marri tribe.
Mir Asghar Marri Union Nazim, Colonel Gaddafi, Naib Nazim, Rozi Khan, District Councillor Dera Bugti Usman Marri, Mir Naseeb Marri, Kamal Khan, Lal Khan, Akbar Marri, Mitha Khan, Adam Khan and tribal Chief Soorat Khan Marri while addressing a press conference in Press Club on Saturday.
They said that there were no Ferrari (absconders) camps in the area and government was killing the innocent people in the guise of an operation against the terrorists. They said that entire Baloch community was being victimised for the crime of one or two people who attempted at the life of President General Pervez Musharraf.
They asked why did government not launch an operation in Islamabad and Karachi when attempted on the life of President but he narrow escaped. They said that rulers would have to stop operation if they want integrity and solidarity of Pakistan. "We would not beg for food nor for stopping the operation and we would prefer to die. They said, "gunship helicopters and jets came into action in afternoon and made a number of sorties, bombing mercilessly on the unarmed Marri Baloch population".
They said that government wanted to grab their minerals from Kohlu while it is defaulter of Rs 600 billion against natural gas and petroleum products. They said that a development package of merely 1.5 billion cannot compensate them which is only 25 percent of their outstanding.
