The Swiss franc strengthened slightly against the dollar on Wednesday as traders looked ahead to key Swiss data this week after a UBS indicator showed a rise in Swiss consumption for the third consecutive month.
The dollar last traded around 1.3129/32 francs versus 1.3137/42 late in Europe on Tuesday. The euro was trading 1.5576/79 francs from 1.5573/78 francs.
The Swiss National Bank raised interest rates in December and is expected to continue gradually ratcheting up the cost of borrowing as growth picks up.
