'Gas pricing formula sent to Iran'

Trilateral meeting on Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline project will be held in February in Tehran to finalise framework agreement, feasibility and project structure, petroleum secretary Ahmed Waqar said.
Talking to journalists here on Saturday, the secretary said Pakistan had already sent a gas pricing formula to Iran and waiting for her response.
About the project structure, he said construction of the gas pipeline in segmented portion would also be considered in the trilateral meeting.
On the issue of royalty, he said principles and international practices would be followed while determining royalty.
Pakistan required 1 billion cubic feet of gas till 2010 and it would be increased to 2 billion cubic feet in the next three years, he said, adding India required 2 to 3 billion cubic feet.
When asked about Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) project, he said, we have floated a tentative date of January 4 but it is yet to be fixed. In this meeting, the gas certification and dedication for this project would be ascertained, the secretary added.
