Government urged to ban smuggling of substandard lubricants

All Pakistan Lubricants Manufacturers Association (APLMA) has demanded of the government to ban smuggling of substandard lubricants to save this industry.
Chairman APLMA Mian Zahid Hussain in a statement on Tuesday said that substandard lubricants are being smuggled from Iran and other neighbouring countries since many years and being sold in all cities badly affecting the local lubricants industry, besides government loosing millions of rupees on account of taxes and other duties.
He said substandard and cheap lubricants are also badly affecting not only machinery in industries but buses and other transport as well beside increasing pollution.
He urged government to protect the interests of local lubricants industry.
