Pakistan railways were finalising a plan to deliver tickets at the passenger's doorsteps, State Minister for Railways Ishaq Khan Khakwani said on Tuesday.
Negotiations were being finalised with the Overseas Courier Service (OCS), which has a network of 200 call centres in the country. They would issue and deliver the tickets at the people's doorsteps, he told PTV.
Tickets would be issued and delivered to the passengers on just a phone call. Services of more courier services would also be hired, he added. Various plans worth rupees nine billion were being carried out for making railways as an efficient organisation.
Continuous monitoring of railway tracks has been ensured for averting any future accidents. 300 personnel have been deputed for this purpose. An extra official has also been deputed with each engine driver for ensuring foolproof vigilance, he added.
