A spokesman of ISPR on Thursday strongly rejected the criticism of steering committee of the combined opposition, which appeared in a section of the press, stating that a political statement has been issued after the Corps Commanders conference.
The spokesman said that national security is not a political issue and matters pertaining to internal and external security are viewed in the forums like Corps Commanders Conference and in the same context they had reviewed the law and order situation in the country that has been created by certain vested interests under the garb of protest against publication of blasphemous sketches.
The elements who are not involved in such malicious activity need not be apprehensive of the statement. In fact they should have appreciated the statement issued after the conference, the spokesman said.
