The Supreme Court on Monday suspended a Peshawar High Court judgement unseating Malik lmranullah from the NWFP assembly on the grounds of fake graduation degree and granted him leave to appeal.
A bench comprising Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan and Justice Falak Sher allowed lmranullah to cast his vote in the Senate elections and attend the sessions of the provincial assembly.
The court summoned complete record from the Karachi University about the relevant examination and inquiries within a period of one month without fail.
Malik Muhammad Qayyum appeared before the court as counsel of Imranullah, who was elected from Lakki Marwat in 2002 general elections on the ticket of the PML (N).
Salim Saifullah Khan, whom lmranullah defeated, has also been made respondent in the petition challenging the PHC judgement.
Wasim Sajjad, counsel of Salim Saifullah Khan, did not appear before the court due to ill health.
Another respondent, Naqibullah, was represented by advocate Sardar Khan.
