Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has called for continuity of ongoing development process in Sindh. He said that funds to provincial and city governments and contractors should be released stage-wise in four instalments, which would not only control financial irregularities, but also help maintain check on ongoing development schemes.
He was presiding over a high-level meeting held at the Governor House in which he was briefed on development activities in the province.
The meeting was attended by Sindh Planning and Development Minister Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari, Additional Chief Secretary Ghulam Sarwar Khehro besides senior officials of the provincial planning and development department.
Khehro said: "Our foremost objective is to incorporate the element of employment generation through development schemes for poverty alleviation so that people in the province are helped in earning their livelihood."
