Wasim notified as Leader of House in Senate

The Senate Secretariat on Tuesday issued a notification of appointment of Senator Wasim Sajjad as Leader of the House in the Senate. His nomination was announced by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in the Senate in his address on Sunday after the election of the chairman and deputy chairman for the Upper House.
"The prime minister has been pleased to appoint Senator Wasim Sajjad to act as Leader of the House on behalf of the prime minister to represent the government to regulate the government business in the Senate with effect from March 12, 2006," the notification said.
According to the notification, Wasim Sajjad had also assumed the charge of the office of the Leader of the House in the Senate with effect from March 12.
