US MIDDAY: coffee edges up

US coffee futures eked out modest gains on Tuesday, thanks to speculators buying back their short positions from a recent three-month low, market sources said.
The New York Board of Trade's benchmark arabica contract for May delivery rose 0.35 cent to settle at $1.0625 per lb, after trading from $1.0570 to $1.07. Among other arabicas, July finished Tuesday's session at $1.0885 a lb - up 0.30 cent. Back-month coffee futures ended up 0.15 to 0.25 cents.
