The Lahore High Court (LHC) has disposed of a petition against Senator Haroon Akhtar for contesting senate elections on technocrat seat. The petitioner, a candidate of PPPP on the same seat Dr Israr contended in his petition that the respondent was a director of a company; hence he did not fulfil the condition of technocrat.
He further contended that he had raised this issue before the returning officer but he ignored his contentions and allowed the respondent to contest the election.
The court disposed of the petition as it has become anfractuous after the election of respondent as senator.
