Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad has directed that an alternative system for roads, where development works are under implementation, be devised and effectively enforced.
Presiding over a meeting at Governor House, he issued various directives for better traffic flow in the city. He directed that sign broads be conspicuously displayed for alternate routes and traffic police be deployed for public guidance.
He asked the officials to personally travel on affected routes during peak hours and take stock of the situation to initiate practical steps for redressal of problems and maintaining traffic flow in the city.
The Governor directed the city district government to ensure that work on development projects is carried round the clock to ensure their early completion. Appreciating the fast pace of work on under-passes, he appreciated the performance of City Nazim.
The meeting was attended by Home Minister Rauf Siddiqi, Planning and Development Minister Shoaib Bukhari, Nazim Karachi Mustafa Kamal, IG Police Jehangir Mirza, CCPO Karachi Niaz Siddiqi, DIG Traffic Falak Khurshid, EDO Transport Athar Ali and other officials.
