Pakistan Readymade Garment Manufacturers & Exporters Association (Prgmea) Chairman Bilal Mulla has shown deep concerns on recent increase in the Karachi Electricity Supply Corporation (KESC) tariff.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, he said the input cost of industrial products were already highest in the region due to which Pakistan was loosing its competitive edge. He added that that increase would have multiple effects for the readymade garment cost, as the cost of all the raw material used by the Readymade Garment Manufacturer would increase, so the most affected industry would be the readymade garment.
Mulla demanded immediate withdrawal of present hike of electricity tariff in the supreme interest of Pakistan economy specially for promotion of exports for which both government and private sector struggling at their level best.-PR
