Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will launch services to Paris this June, its eighth European destination.
"Etihad is continuing to build an impressive European network, and is very much looking forward to starting services to Paris. Guests will be able to enjoy Etihad's superior levels of style and hospitality six times a week between the UAE and France," said Dr Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saif Al Nahyan, Etihad chairman and chairman of the Civil Aviation Department in Abu Dhabi.
Etihad will launch six flights a week to Terminal 2A at Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport from 1 June. The new direct service will offer a total weekly capacity of 1,295 seats, and will further boost the cargo volume into the European market.
The new destination follows the Abu Dhabi-based airline's ambitious plans to link the UAE's capital to the world's most important commercial and cultural centres and will provide a major service to the European nationals based in the UAE. The UAE and France enjoy close diplomatic and economic ties, with the French President Jacques Chirac and several other senior French ministers frequently visiting the UAE.-PR
