US MIDDAY: cocoa jumps

US cocoa futures rose more than 1 percent to a one-month high Thursday, adding to this week's advance amid speculative buying, limited producer selling and a weak dollar, market sources said.
The New York Board of Trade's active cocoa contract for May delivery climbed $22 to settle at $1,511 a tonne, the loftiest for the contract since February 13 when it concluded at $1,517. The May contract spurred automatic stop-loss buying when it vaulted above last week's peak trade of $1,503.
