PAF to be modernised: Shaukat

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Monday reiterated government's resolve to provide all necessary resources for the modernisation of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and to ensure effective defence of the country.
Talking to the newly appointed Chief of Air Staffs Air Chief Marshal Tanveer Mehmood Ahmad at the PM House, he said Pakistan is a peace-loving country and will maintain a minimum credible defence in the interest of peace in the region.
The Prime Minister, noting the important role of the PAF in the war and peace, said the government is committed to equip it with necessary equipment and to enhance its defence capabilities.
The Chief of Air Staff apprised the Prime Minister of the needs of the Air Force and the steps being taken for its modernisation.-PR
