Punjab Chief Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that centenary convention of Pakistan Muslim League on 23rd March will play a pivotal role in highlighting the purpose of creation of Pakistan and renewing the pledge to achieve the objectives of Pakistan Movement.
While talking to Assembly Members from Gujranwala, Nankana and Sheikhupura, here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister stressed upon assembly members, Nazims and primary units of PML to intensify the mass contact campaign for the success of the convention.
He said that people from all over the country would participate in large numbers in the centenary convention of Muslim League, which would be reflective of their confidence in the party leadership and policies of the government.
He said that PML has become a strong political force and the massive participation of people in the convention would be a proof of this fact. He said that this convention would revive the memories of Pakistan Movement and would mark the beginning of centenary celebrations of Muslim League.
He said that special arrangements have been made for providing necessary facilities to the delegates coming from different parts of the country as well as maintaining a smooth flow of traffic so that general public should not face any difficulty.
Moreover, Punjab Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja while talking to newsmen after reviewing the arrangements of the convention at Minar-e-Pakistan, said that the Muslim League which created Pakistan is now striving for its strength and solidarity.
"Presidents and general secretaries of Muslim League of all the four provinces as well as a massive number of people would participate in the workers convention," he added. "Provincial government is also taking effective measures for the maintenance of law and order while effective security arrangements have also been made," he added.
Earlier, the law minister held a high level meeting to review arrangements for Muslim League Workers Convention, here on Tuesday. Minister for Communication and Works Chaudhry Zaheer-ud-din Khan, District Nazim Lahore Mian Amer Mahmood, DIG Traffic, District Police Officer and other senior officers were present. Matter regarding parking space for the vehicles, seating arrangements as well as press coverage of the convention were discussed during the meeting.
