Ghulam Murtaza Maitla, MNA/Chairman of the Standing Committee on Water and Power presided over a meeting of the committee on Saturday.
After thorough discussion, standing committee on water and power unanimously directed the convenor of the sub-committee to hold a meeting of the sub-committee on 31st March after Jumma prayer in Parliament House.
It met to finalise its recommendations on the bill to further amend the Pakistan Engineering Council Act, 1975 (The Pakistan Engineering Council (Second Amendment) Bill 2005 Ordinance No X of 2005) and asked them to submit their report to the main committee to enable the standing committee forward its recommendation to the House.
The committee also directed the ministry of water and power to submit a report on work done by the Wapda in earthquake areas particularly district Mansehra.
Besides the chairman the meeting was attended by MNAs Sardar Shah Jehan Yousaf, Sayed Muhammad Asghar Shah, Muhammad Sanaullah Khan Mastikhel, Deewan Syed Jaffar Hussain Bukhari, Muhammad Safdar Shakir, Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah, Dr Abdul Kadir Khanzada, Abdul Rauf Mengal, Mian Muhammad Aslam and Sayed Zafar Ali Shah.
The ministry of water and power was represented by their Additional Secretary Muhammad Yousaf Memon and Registrar Pakistan Engineering Council.
