Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was taking measures to provide tense free environment and recreational facilities to the people so that they could survive for a long time, said Minister for Livestock Syed Haroon Sultan Bukhari while inaugurating the three-day Horse and Cattle Show here on Saturday.
He said that the Horse and Cattle Show, arranged by the district council at Qasim Bagh stadium here, will provide healthy recreation to the people. He said that animals of best breed were brought by the farmers to the show which would continue till March 26. He said that he was glad to open the Horse and Cattle Show. The minister also appreciated the efforts of the local administration for arranging such a grand show at Qasim Bagh.
More than 500 healthy animals of high breed were brought by the farmers from various parts of Multan district and these animals paraded before the visitors after the inaugural ceremony. Motorcycle jump, PT show, camel show, horse dances and civil defence were the main features of the show while fireworks was presented during night.
Similarly, an agricultural and industrial exhibition was also arranged where farmers and industrialists set up their stalls. The Social Welfare Department has arranged a Meena Bazaar for women to be held on March 26 from 10am to 3pm at Qasim Bagh. Colourful programmes, including a children's show, funfair, tableaus, magic show, agro-industrial exhibition, speech contests, folk songs, Ghazal and popular and national songs will be the main features of the event.
Amongst flowers like Dahlia, Gladiolus, Iris, Oralis, Ranunculus, Sparaxis, Tulip, Cineraria, Clarkia, Daisy, Aster, Alyssum, Patonia, Cliviya, Daylia, two plants of Cactus, Qawali and Mehfil-i-Naat was held at Darbar of Hazrat Shah Rukan-i-Alam on Saturday night.
A musical programme was also arranged on Friday night at the SBP auditorium at which Shahida Mini, a famous artiste, performed and presented songs. Famous folk singer Arif Lohar will perform on Sunday.
