Over 600 terrorists killed in Wana: Sherpao

Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao has reiterated the government's resolve to continue its war against terrorism, saying that more than 600 local and foreign terrorists have been killed or arrested in Wana during the military operation.
"The government will not allow any organisation or individual to use its soil for terrorist activities against any country and all-out measures have been made to crush the elements challenging the writ of the government," he said, while addressing parents day function of Hassan Academy for Special Children held here on Tuesday.
The minister said that the military operation in Balochistan was against terrorists who were challenging the writ of the government. The operation will continue till elimination of terrorists. Security will be maintained at all development projects and installations in the province," he said.
Talking about sit-in of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), Sherpao said that the people have seen its million march and now they would also see the sit-in.
Dispelling impression of negative impact of merger of Muslim League and Peoples Party, Aftab Sherpao, who is president of the Pakistan Peoples Party, said that the merger of the different groups of Muslim League would have no impact on PPP. "We are allies of the government and would remain so," he added.
He praised the efforts of Hassan Academy and said that special children are part of the society and they should be prepared to be a useful part of the society. Sherpao announced a van and Rs 50,000 grant for the academy. Earlier, Academy Principal Dr Ahmed Hassan presented the address of welcome and briefed the minister about progress of the academy in educating special children and making them useful part of the society.
