A five-member delegation of China Scholarship Council, Ministry of Education China, led by Ms Li Bing, director division, International Linkages, called on Punjab University vice chancellor Arshad Mahmood here on Wednesday.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss and develop bilateral relations between the Punjab University and well reputed universities of China.
The vice-chancellor told the delegation members that Punjab University is currently running one-year diploma course and intends to start a two-year master's programme in Chinese Language.
He requested the delegation to recommend some good teachers of Chinese language to the Punjab University, saying the university is improving linkages with various international universities.
Ms Li Bing told Arshad Mahmood that her organisation wants to select students from the Punjab University to give them PhD scholarship for higher studies in China.
The delegation also visited the School of Biological Science and the Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology.
