With regard to national unity I have a suggestion, which is to introduce the regional language of one province in other provinces at least at the school level. For instance 'Pashto' can be taught in Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan. Similarly 'Sindhi' can be made compulsory in Punjab, Balochistan and NWFP. Balochi and NWFP must learn 'Punjabi'.
Or any other combination, in short, a school going child must learn another regional/provincial language besides his own. This will give long-term benefits to national unity.
As language is a major factor which creates cultural differences between the people of the four provinces, and there differences can lead to other differences, this teaching of each other's languages will give birth to a generation of people who can easily understand each other, who can easily intermingle with each other.
This will also encourage people to marry people of other provinces. This step will go a long way in creating harmony among provinces and reducing hatred.
Another view may be that it will create a further burden on school-going children. Another suggestion regarding it is that the language be taught, but initially, no exam should be taken and this subject should be taught in an 'interactive' session where the children are encouraged to speak the other language.
Young children can learn languages much faster than adults. Similarly, regarding the teaching of international languages at the university level.
There should be language made compulsory from languages like 'French, German, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi and Persian, so that we can produce a pool of people who can speak those languages. It will also benefit the nation in the long term.
