'April fool' pranks were many on telephones and faxes to a large number of individuals and organisations in the late hours on Friday night while more are expected today - April 1, reports UPP correspondent.
There were frantic calls from many people in newspapers and news agencies' offices calling for verification of the wrong rumours circulated by the 'April fool' pranksters.
One caller wanted to know if Osama bin Laden had been caught on the Pak-Afghan border. Another was asking if Mian Nawaz Sharif has arrived in Karachi.
Another caller wanted to know if free residential plots were to be given to 30,000 homeless people of Karachi. Another caller wanted to know if any plane had been hijacked in Islamabad airport.
