CMIT completes investigation in 21 cases

Punjab Minister and a member of the Chief Minister's Inspection Team, Colonel Shuja Khanzada (Retd) said the CMIT had completed investigation in as many as 21 cases against officials of various departments and in this regard a report had been submitted to the chief minister for necessary action.
He was presiding over a high-level meeting, held to review the performance of department, here on Friday. CMIT Chairman Arslan Ali Khan, secretary and members of the team attended the meeting. The minister directed members to dispose of all pending cases so that action could be taken against the corrupt elements.
The meeting was informed that 39 directives, 11 references and 16 summaries had been received from the Chief Minister's Secretariat for conducting investigation by the CMIT.
The members also conducted 20 raids in different departments. After investigation the reports have been submitted to the Chief Minister's Secretariat for further necessary action.
Shuja Khanzada appreciated the performance of CMIT and said the chief minister had decided to expend structure of CMIT so that grievances of the people could be redressed at local level. He further said that CMIT would also check attendance in different departments and disciplinary action would be taken against the absentees.
