Indus Motor Company (IMC) has constructed three earthquake resistant model houses in the village of Majhoi and Mang Omar Khan in the Jhelum valley of Azad Kashmir, which will be replicated in a larger reconstruction effort and will cover several settlements.
These permanent structures, that have been constructed by the villagers on self-help basis using stones and wood salvaged from the earthquake destroyed houses and cement, steel, sheets, etc provided by Indus Motor Company, were handed over to the local villagers at a simple ceremony.
According to a press release issued here on Friday, the Y. Area, Vice Chairman, Parvez Ghias, CEO and Shah Saad Husain, Director Corporate Planning and Customer Relations attended the official handing over ceremony along with Brigadier Sheheryar Khan, Commander 10 Brigade Pakistan Army, Brigadier Saleem, Chief Relief Commissioner AJK, Dr Sardar Mehmood Khan, DHO, AJK, government officials and others.-PR
