Model agriculture farms to be established

After introduction of its own health and education policy, now District Government has announced its own agriculture policy under this, a chains of model farms would be established in each rural union council of Multan, cows and buffaloes would be given on 50 percent cost.
Tube-wells would be installed and farm-implements and equipment would be supplied on merely 20 percent payment and remaining cost would be borne by the District Government.
Mango exhibition would be organised in Multan to attract the foreign buyers. City District Nazim Mian Faisal Mukhtar said on Sunday.
Addressing a ceremony here, he said that the agricultural policy would soon be publicised and revolutionary measures would be adopted under it to uplift agriculture sector in the district. He said that mango orchards, sunflower, cotton and wheat fields would be established in model farms. He said that shortage of irrigation water would also be made up and tube-wells would be installed through Citizen Community Boards in each union council.
He further disclosed that a dairy farming policy was also in offing and it would soon be announced. He said that horse and cattle show, agricultural and industrial exhibitions would also be held on regular basis in Multan.
