Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) has geared up efforts to finalise the PC-1 for the establishment of as many as 30 technical training centres at Deeni Madaris throughout Punjab.
According to Tevta officials, directions in this regard have been issued to all district managers of the authority.
According to directions, district managers have been asked to identify at least three Deeni Madaris located in the jurisdiction of their districts where such centres could be set up.
The decision was taken in pursuance of the government policy to technically train students of Deeni Madaris so that they could become financially strong and play their due role in the nation's building.
The Tevta has already established model-training centre at Jamia Islamia Trust in Kamoke, where 40 students are being trained in electrician, air-conditioner and refrigeration disciplines. The duration of these courses is six months.
