Veteran Kashmiri Leader Syed Ali Gillani said that Pakistan was the last hope for entire Kashmiri nation. Talking to private TV channel, he said Pakistan had provided commendable moral support to Kashmiris.
He urged India to show flexibility and respond positively for enabling an amicable solution of the lingering dispute. From 1947 till date talks sans resolution were held with India by 130 times. They should respond positively to amicable gestures shown by Pakistan," he said.
"India was not allowing me to travel Pakistan. Indian authorities have confiscated my passport since 1961." He termed plebiscite as the only answer for knowing the genuine opinions of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmiris have suffered a lot. There are thousands of graves of Kashmiri youth.
Kashmir was a disputed territory and United Nations' resolutions as well as the Indian commitments to the people of Kashmir are strong foundations for the finding solution to the dispute, he said.
No other solution of the issue would be acceptable to the people of Kashmir, nor the integrity of the state could be maintained by forcing solution by coercion, he added.
