Lawyers oppose setting up of Federal High Court

Rejecting the government's proposal to set up a Federal High Court, the lawyers on Sunday called it a government conspiracy to take away the exclusive jurisdiction of the provincial high courts.
Earlier, the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), an apex body of lawyers has also summoned a countrywide convention of lawyers on May 6 to evolve strategy against the government's move for establishing Federal High Court.
The PBC has also given a strike call on May 6 to finalise an anti-government movement in the backdrop of the critical geo-political situation of the country with regard to the killing of innocent civilians in Balochistan and Waziristan.
