'CDGK keen to resolve communities problems'

Acting, City Nazim, Nasreen Jaleel on Sunday said City District Government Karachi (CDGK), is endeavouring to develop effective co-ordination with Community Boards (CBs) for resolution of the problems being faced by different communities in the provincial metropolis.
She expressed these views while talking to representatives of different non-governmental organisation including, Indian delegates, which called on her here on Sunday.
She said that CDGK is working with the co-ordination of CBs to resolve the problems of different communities through CBs involvement.
Acting City Nazim said the new local government system has provided opportunities for establishment of Community Boards at Towns and Union Councils levels to work for masses welfare.
Nasreen Jaleel said that women have given 33 percent representation in the City Councils with the aim to ensure their participation in the development process.
Talking to Indian delegates, she said that 33 percent women representation in City Council will help give more powers to women.
She was of the opinion that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), has played an exemplary role for ensuring effective involvement of women of the country in politics and for women's honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary, Christian Council of Social Services (Indian NGO), R. Isabel briefed the Acting, City Nazim about the role of NGOs in India for women development and poverty alleviation. She also invited Nasreen Jaleel to visit India.
