Pakistani pickles are finding huge market in occupied Kashmir with customers taking pride to purchase it. Interestingly, the mouth-watering product has gained huge publicity by word of mouth, reports Kashmir Media Service.
"A friend of mine informed me that Pakistani pickles were being sold in the market. The same day I went to the market and bought it," said Muhammad Farooq of Narkara, Budgam, while talking to mediamen. Farooq says since his childhood he was fascinated to watch Pakistani ads of their food products on TV and wished to buy them. "For me to find the products in local market here was a dream come true," he said.
Muhammad Muzaffar shopkeeper at Residency Road Srinagar who sells the products cites reason for its good sale. "Good sale of Pakistani edibles especially pickles has more to do with emotions. Customers here feel elated that the product has come from Pakistan," Muzaffar says. He opines that similar would be the reaction if Kashmiri products find outlet to Pakistani markets."
