Nation urged to follow Sunnah: President, Prime Minister messages on Eid Milad-un-Nabi

President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz have urged the nation to follow the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet, (PBUH) and strive for spreading the message of love, harmony and peace contained in his glorious teachings, which aim at true well being of humanity.
In separate messages to the nation on the auspicious occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the president and prime minister greeted all Muslims and paid homage and respect to the Last Prophet of Allah Almighty for his unique and exalted qualities and said his life and noble teachings offer practical solutions to people of every era.
The president said it has always been supremely important to educate the people of every era with the universal and lofty teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He stressed the need for spreading the glorious teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), all of which essentially aim at true well being and welfare of the humanity.
In this regard, the president underlined that it is incumbent upon the entire Muslim Ummah to fulfill its duty in letter and spirit.
"We need to act upon the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) not only on this auspicious day but throughout the year. At the same time, we should strive for spreading the message of peace and love so that we may become his true followers" he said. "Let's endeavour to spread the message emanating from the life of the Prophet (PBUH), follow his Sunnah and prove with our actions and deeds that we belong to the Ummah of the Prophet and Founder of peace, who is benefactor of the entire humanity."
Islam, he stressed, is a religion of peace, well being, love, harmony and brotherhood. The holy Quran and life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) are a practical demonstration of these teachings of the Quran. Allah has declared the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as a source of blessing for all the worlds. His teachings are vitally significant vis-a-vis betterment of humanity in this era of globalisation, he added.
"The way of Islam and the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is welfare of people, mutual brotherhood, harmony, peace and safety. It is this very message which enlightened the world. The nation that clings to these golden teachings has and indeed always will enjoy an elevated status. This remains undeniable."
Eid Milad un Nabi, the President said, is an auspicious day for the Muslims. On this day, the 12th of Rabi ul Awal, our Holy Prophet (PBUH was born. This is very rightly a day of blessings and true bliss and a day of thanksgiving for Muslims.
"Indeed, it is a universally acknowledged fact that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) with his unique qualities, sublime character and noblest of deeds is an eternal source of inspiration for humanity and a model of exalted values as revealed in the Holy Quran," he said.
He is a world reformer, leader of human beings, a source of blessings and an emancipator of humanity. His life and piety of character offer practical solutions to problems that confront people of all times, said the president.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in his message asked the Muslims to promote the message of Holy Prophet (PBUH) and make it an essential part of their lives.
He asked the Muslims that they should prove with the good acts and deeds that they are real followers of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
"Any blasphemous attempt against any nation, religion or belief can be dangerous for of peace, harmony and brotherhood among them," he added. The prime minister said these blasphemous acts could only help those elements who are talking about "clash of civilisations." He urged the world community to take serious notice of those elements, to ensure a peaceful and good international human society.
