Provincial Minister for Information Technology Abdul Aleem Khan has called upon the chambers to adopt modern ways and means and latest technology for improving their working, as it could pave the way to strengthen the national economy.
While addressing the launching ceremony of website of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) here on Thursday, Aleem maintained that Information Technology and use of Internet could play vital role in boosting the business activities.
He said the Punjab Information Technology Department was ready to provide better professional services to the Lahore Chamber and offered all out co-operation in future for IT related work. He said the Punjab Chief Minister was giving special attention towards the trade-related activities in the province.
He further said the Punjab government had taken revolutionary steps to promote IT culture in the province and a comprehensive plan had been chalked out to enhance computer education among the masses.
Earlier, LCCI President Mian Shafqat Ali informed that Research and Development Wing and Information Technology Wing of Lahore Chamber have jointly prepared its website and then all details of chamber would be available at www.lccirnd.com. He told that ticketing software has also been developed for contacts from outside the country. He said that all activities of LCCI had been computerised.
Later, the chief guest Abdul Aleem Khan inaugurated the website. Senior Vice President Abdul Basit, Vice President Aftab Ahmed Vohra and ex-President of LCCI Mian Anjum Nisar were also present on this occasion.
