The Allama Iqbal Town Nazim Sardar Kamil Omar has announced to waive off developmental charges in the larger interests of the residents of the area. He was speaking at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) here on Thursday.
LCCI President Mian Shafqat Ali, Senior Vice President Abdul Basit and Vice President Aftab Ahmad Vohra also spoke on the occasion.
LCCI former Presidents Mian Anjum Nisar and Mian Misbahur Rehman also attended the meeting.
Sardar Kamil Omar said the objective of his visit to LCCI was to have first hand knowledge about the problems being faced by the business community. While assuring the LCCI office-bearers of his full co-operation, he urged the businessmen to come forward and point out the hurdles coming in the way of promotion of their businesses. He informed the participants of the meeting that he was striving to ensure good governance in his town.
Speaking on the occasion, the LCCI President Mian Shafqat Ali said the system of local bodies, which was introduced by General Pervez Musharraf in 2001 had successfully got roots in the country and delivery service of the local bodies improved significantly. He said interaction between the local bodies needed to be strengthened, as this understanding between the service providers and the users was highly productive and constructive.
