Wullar Barrage talks open on April 18

The third phase of Pakistan-India talks on Wullar Barrage will open here on Tuesday (April 18). In the two-day talks the Pakistani delegation would be led by Water and Power Secretary Ishfaq Mahmood, whereas the Indian side would be headed by the Water Resources Secretary J. Hari Narayan.
Legal advisors, design engineers, the Indus River Treaty commissioner, and officials of the foreign office would also participate in the talks. Pakistan says India is illegally constructing the Wullar Barrage over River Jhelum in defiance of the Indus Water Accord of 1960.
