A "kick-off workshop for establishing B2B textile portal" has been arranged by the Ministry of Textile Industry in Lahore on April 25.
In the wake of the globalised trade regime and the implementation of World Trade Organisation (WTO) agreements and the abolition of textile quotas, it is in the economic interest of all concerned to use e-commerce technology to get market access and reach out to hitherto uncharted territories and potential businesses.
The ministry has initiated the launching of first ever web-based business-to-business portal for facilitating e-commerce vis-a-vis textile sector.
The workshop has been scheduled in this regard to apprise the stakeholders about the concept of this portal and its usefulness to all those who subscribe to it.
Export Promotion Bureau Chairman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda), and Textile Commissioner, Textile Commissioner's Organisation have been invited to attend the workshop and provide their valued input for preparing the ground work for launching of first ever B2B portal.
