Peshawar University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Haroon Rashid has said that all available resources will be utilised to bring this university at par with the world's reputed universities, adding that co-ordinated efforts and dedication would pave the way in this regard.
He said that no stone should be left unturned to provide maximum facilities to the students that they could get quality education, he added.
He was talking to the sectional heads in a meeting held here on Monday. Registrar of Peshawar University Sher Bahadur Khan was also present on the occasion.
Dr Haroon Rashid told the meeting that every decision would be taken on merit without any compromise on rules and regulations, adding that parents have to play their due role and keep vigilant check on their children.
He told the participants that to improve moral values, build character and educate students about Islamic teachings, Khyber Islamic Culture Society has recently been constituted at the University of Peshawar.
It would be the first students' society, which would arrange Dars-e-Quran on regular basis in different constituent institutions, post-graduate departments and even in hostel, he said.
The vice chancellor said that the society would also arrange various seminars, conferences, workshops, meetings and lecturers on contemporary affairs, Islamic teachings and Dars-e-Seerat in collaboration with scholars and intellectuals.
He informed that students' societies were being activated and co-curricular activities on the campus to help engage students in creative activities.
He directed that the learned faculty members might also be asked to concentrate on research so that maximum people could be benefited from their experience and knowledge. He said that dedication of the teachers would bring revolutionary change in academics as well as in co-academic fields.
