The government intends to invoke amended Seed Act to streamline this business and to curb the sale of fake seed in the market. This was told by the Minister for Agriculture Punjab, Arshad Khan Lodhi while addressing a seminar on paddy organised by Punjab Seed Corporation (PSC) at its farm near Sahiwal on Monday.
According to a press release issued here on Monday, the seminar was also addressed by MPA Walayat Shah Khagga, Ibrahim Mughal, MD PSC Brigadier Amanullah Khan Niazi (Retd), DG Pest Warning Dr Ijaz Pervaiz, DG Research Dr Khalid Hussain Gill, DG Extension Chaudhry Abdul Ghaffar and Director Marketing PSC Nazakat Bhatti.
The minister said that wheat was cultivated over an area of 15 million acres and we will achieve the production target of 17.5 million tonnes of wheat. Earlier, the minister inaugurated wheat harvesting at the farm of PSC.-PR
