Message from Federal Minister for Textile Industry

26 Apr, 2006

I feel great honor to see 5th International Garment and Textile Machinery & Accessories Exhibition 2006 playing significant role in the growth of textile and garment sector in Pakistan.
Pakistan's investment of US $ 5 Billion in procuring textile machinery is a welcome sign, yet just a starting step. Pakistan is the only country in this region with 75 per cent surplus man made fibre cotton yarn. The government is trying to encourage value-addition and expansion programme in a bid to gain wider access to the international markets.
I assure the government support to necessary facilities to the Industrialists in all their initiatives in modernizing industrial efficiency and ensuring quality and diversification of products, made and exported from Pakistan.
IGATEX Pakistan 2006, being the largest international showcase of textile technology in Pakistan, offers interactive opportunities to all the local and international participants to expand their businesses in the new and emerging markets.
I would like to appreciate the efforts of organisers, Pegasus and CEMS, for organising this event and helping government in its endeavor to present Pakistan's Industrial potential in the textile and garment sector to the rest of the world.
I must thank all the ministries, trade associations and participants for making this show a brilliant success.
