Message from Governor Sindh

26 Apr, 2006

On behalf of the Government and people of Sindh, I greet all the overseas trade visitors and exhibitors to the 5th International Garment and Textile Machinery & Accessories Exhibition 2006, the largest Garment and Textile Machinery Exhibition ever held in Pakistan.
Events in Pakistan such as IGATEX not only provide a unique platform for the manufacturers to exhibit their technologies at a global showcase, but also bring together local and international companies to gain benefits from the continuous industrial and economic development in Pakistan.
I am very proud of the fact that IGATEX is being held for the 5th time in Karachi, which being the commercial and industrial hub of the country also holds varied social and cultural interests for the foreign visitors.
I am of the view that this exhibition will not only reward its participants with increased trade opportunities, but will also open an avenue to showcase our city and country to the world. It is indeed an honour for us to have an even greater participation this time from International manufacturers & exporters.
I am sure that IGATEX would serve to enhance not only the commercial activity in the field of garment and textile, but hopefully in other fields of trade as well.
I would like to complement the Federal Government of Pakistan, the respective Ministries and the garment & textile related associations for continuing their efforts in further enhancing our garment and textile industry's export potential, while highlighting our manufacturing capabilities.
I especially would like to compliment the leadership of the enterprising teams of CEMS and Pegasus that create such large-scale industrial trade events on a frequent basis in Karachi.
