IGATEX Pakistan 2006: The largest exhibition of its kind in the region!

26 Apr, 2006

Pakistan's garment and textile industry: Pakistan holds a pivotal position in the world markets for its textile and garment made-ups that are exported to a large number of countries.
In addition to its contribution of fulfilling a major share of global need, the garment and textile industry contributes more than 65% of the total export earnings, accounts for 46% of total manufacturing and employs 38% of the manufacturing labour force as a major component of the national economy.
The beginning of the quota-free trade regime from year 2005 has marked a new challenge for the country's textile industry where adherence to the internationally accepted quality standards is deemed necessary to be put into practice. This can only be achieved through acquisition of latest in technology to improve upon effective and speedy production.
Realizing this need, it is imperative that there should be an efficient and interactive platform to create a bond between the buyers and sellers of garment & textile machinery on an international scale.
Duly keeping this in mind, Pegasus Consultancy, the leading conferences and exhibition organisers in Pakistan, jointly with CEMS of Singapore, took a bold step of organising the first International Garment and Textile Machinery Exhibition in 2002.
Setting a record in the industry worldwide, IGATEX Pakistan has gained massive popularity on an international scale within three years and is now recognized as the preferred showcase where the buyers can freely interact with the leaders in machinery manufacturing and have a closer look at their machinery in operation.
IGATEX PAKISTAN 2006:
The IGATEX show primarily aims at serving the Pakistani textile & garment manufacturers, at their own doorstep, as a single comprehensive and premium marketplace where established and renowned suppliers showcase their latest offerings in technology and design. Designed to be an ideal one-stop sourcing center, IGATEX targets all the important local and international buyers from Pakistan, South Asian and Middle Eastern markets.
The overwhelming success of IGATEX, spread over four successive shows, sets a new example of tremendous growth in the exhibitions industry. This endorses the bright future of commercial activities in Pakistan, while magnifying the readiness state of the Pakistani industrialists to invest in the acquisition of latest machinery and technology in the textile & garment manufacturing sector.
IGATEX Pakistan, which is now recognised as the largest exhibition of textile & garment machinery & technologies in the region, has successfully continued to dominate the trade events scene in Pakistan.
Backed by a record-setting growth of 900% over a short period of 4 years only, IGATEX boasts keen support from international trade bodies that include Spanish Textile Machinery Association, Italian Trade Commission, Italian Textile Machinery Association, Austrian Trade Commission, Singapore Textile Dealers Friendly Association and International Enterprise, which is an agency under the Singaporean Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Support from the leading textile & garment industry related trade bodies and associations, in addition to the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Textile Industry and Board of Investment, further add to the strength the IGATEX possesses.
IGATEX 2006, which is scheduled from 26~29 April this year and is spread over 6 halls including 2 new halls at the Karachi Expo Centre, has gained participation of more than 500 confirmed exhibitors representing 30 countries, according to the organisers, Pegasus Consultancy.
