I am very pleased to know that National Forum for Environment & Health is organizing a conference on Corporate Social Responsibility. The choice of the theme, CSR: the Human Face of Business is in itself indicative of the importance attached to the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility and how it impacts the society in general.
Corporate entities, due to their very make up, have an innate abilityto do immense good to the societies they function in.
The realization of CSR assists in translating this ability into actual commitment that impacts society in a very positive manner. Corporate bodies are viewed by the society in general as powerhouses of resources that are used to accrue good to the business community.
Increasing realization of Corporate Social Responsibility is rapidly bridging the gap between the society and the corporations and it is this spirit of inclusion that is so important to trickle down the benefits of business to the common people, especially the marginalized sections of the society.
I wish the participants and organizers of the Conference all the success and am sure that it will result in some enriching discussion.
Ministry of environment Govt. of Pakistan will support to NFEH and other organization to promote such activities.
