Besides investing in oil and gas exploration, Chinese investors have shown interest in setting up hydropower and wind power units. Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday after the conclusion of second day of Pak-China Energy Forum, PM's Adviser on energy Mukhtar Ahmed said that Chinese investors were also keen to set up oil refinery in Karachi.
They have also shown their willingness to invest in terminal construction for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and set up plants for petrochemicals, the adviser added.
The Poly Techno, a Chinese company, also offered for setting up a plant of 50 MW each one in Karachi and Lahore for producing electricity from waste, he said. The participants of the Forum would also call on President General Pervez Musharraf on Thursday (today).
