President opens Jinnah recreational park

President General Pervez Musharraf said on Thursday that public parks and playgrounds played pivotal role in building a healthy youth, which was the backbone of any nation.
He made these remarks while inaugurating Jinnah Recreational Park, located three kilometer from Islamabad International Airport, adjacent to the Civil Lines Rawalpindi.
While appreciating the efforts of Army Engineers and all others engaged in the construction of Jinnah Park, President said a huge project had been completed in a very short span of time which was commendable.
The President said while the government was making efforts to provide recreational facilities to all segments of the society, it was the responsibility of all of us to preserve such facilities so that the public could optimally benefit from its use.
The President unveiled the plaque to formally inaugurate the park.
Corps Commander Rawalpindi Lieutenant General Salah Uddin, City Nazim Rawalpindi Raja Ikhlas and large number of civil society members, civil and military officials attended the ceremony.
It may be mentioned here that Corps Engineers have constructed this mega project, while the government of Punjab funded both for construction and land.
