City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal on Thursday took a serious notice of the public complaints regarding shortage of water supply, and directed the Karachi Water and Sewerage Broad (KSWB) to ensure the water supply in the metropolis.
City District Government Karachi (CDGK) officials said that KWSB had commenced the water supply to the city at alternative hours complying on the directives of City Nazim. The move was aimed at overcoming the water shortage crisis prevailing in the city, besides ensuring the water distribution on equal basis to all parts of the city, the official added.
CDGK officials said Managing Director, KWSB, Brigadier Iftikhar Haider had also met with UC Nazims of all 18 towns to address the water-related problems. While City Nazim had also directed the town superintendent engineers to chalk out a plan with consultation of elected town representatives regarding water issues, he maintained.
The official said that City Nazim had held several meetings with the officials of KWSB to resolve the water crisis issue. He said shortage of water supply in the city emerged due to electricity breakdown at the water board pumping station, which badly disturbed the scheduling of water supply.
