Prayer leader gunned down

Some unidentified persons gunned down an prayer leader of a local mosque for unknown reasons in the jurisdiction of Lalian police station, Jhang district.
According to details, slain Maulvi Tahir Hussain, a resident of Kot Sarowala, was a prayer leader (Imam) in a local mosque of Qadarabad village. On the day of the incident, he came out of his house to see off his maternal uncle and other relatives who had come to visit them, when some unidentified persons opened indiscriminate firing, killing Maulvi Tahir Hussain on the spot.
The other persons ran to save their lives while the accused managed to flee from the spot. The police have registered a case against unidentified persons, and arrested a young man on suspicion. Investigations are underway. The body of the deceased has been handed over to the heirs after autopsy.
