The lineup of vessels waiting to load sugar in Brazilian ports increased to 20 from 18 a week ago, shipping agents Williams said. In a report, it said 12 vessels were lined up in the southern port of Santos, up from 11 last week.
In north-eastern Brazil, four vessels were lined up at Maceio, the same previous number, and at Recife there was one ship, also unchanged from last week.
The center-south, which accounts for 85 percent of national output, started cutting a forecast record cane crop in March and will continue until December. Santos port accounted for 71 percent of sugar tonnage being loaded in the ports of Brazil.
