Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said that Rs 10 million has been approved for financial support to press clubs and journalists of Sindh. In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said, on his specific directives, the announcement has been made for special grant to the press clubs and journalists.
A sum of Rs 50,000 has been announced for journalist Abdullah Memon of distt. Badin, Rs 50,000 for Sharafat Mandni of Tando Allahyar and Rs 25,000 for senior journalist Kanwal Shahlai.
The chief minister said the present government believes in freedom of press and it is its utmost effort to resolve the issues of people associated with journalism on priority basis.
He said he had always taken steps for redress of their issues.
