As many as 281 wheat procurement centers have been established in the province for the convenience of farmers. According to official sources, number of wheat procurement centers has been increased and even more centers can be established, if required.
The department has completed arrangements regarding wheat procurement campaign which was started from April 20. Wheat would be procured at the rate of Rs 415 per maund and Rs 3 would be paid to the farmers as delivery charges per 100-kg wheat.
The full and timely payment to the farmers for their produce would be ensured besides protecting their interests. All facilities regarding wheat procurement would be provided to the farmers so that they should not find any difficulty in this regard. These procurement centers would remain open from 7am to 7pm including on Sunday and other holidays.
